Book the training: Effective and healthy idealism in the workplace
May 04, 2022We need more activists in the workplace.
Activists and idealists are the perfect employees, because they want to make a real change with their work, they're intrinsically motivated, and they have a huge sense of responsibility. Moreover, their focus is on other people and the world around them rather than on themselves, and they view their work as much more important than their own wellbeing. They are willing to give a lot, they have lots of willpower, and they are often very empathic. Many idealists are also very talented in many ways.
HOWEVER. There is a downside to this whole story.
Because many idealists struggle at work.
This is because they work too hard, take on too much responsibility, and because they often don't see enough impact of their work. (Or, they are just never satisfied and never believe they are doing enough). This means that stress and burnout is always around the corner.
Moreover, many employers fail to create an environment where idealists can truly thrive and live up to their full potential. Focussing on procedures rather than outcomes, not caring enough about real-world impact or negative consequences, and having a short-term perspective are among the reasons why employers fail to recognize how they can really make the most of the endless potential of idealists.
But there's hope. With the three keys to healthy and effective idealism, both idealists and their employers can work together to avoid the pitfalls and strengthen the superpowers of idealists.
In this workshop, we dive into the three keys and how to make the most of them. Participants start immediately with integrating the keys and building new habits at work.
The workshop is developed for governmental organizations, CSO's and businesses.
